U.S. Senate and U.S. Congress is overpaid!

The first members of the U.S. Senate and Congress paid themselves $6 a day which is $119 a day in today’s dollars. That is $595 a week in today’s dollars, or $30,940 a year in today’s dollars (assuming they worked all 52 weeks in a year which they probably didn't)

Currently our overpaid U.S. Senators and Congressmen pay themselves between $154,700 and $192,100 a years. This 5 to 6 times what the original Senators and Congressmen paid themselves.

This was on page 39 of a book titled “Unusually Stupid Americans” by Kathryn Petras and Ross Petras which was copyrighted in 2003

The book went on to say that they were not calling Congressmen and Senators stupid, but that the people who call them “Public Servants” are stupid.
